Answers to Your Questions
It is okay to not know where or how to start treatment. Reach out to us, and we will guide you through the process. We will meet with you for an initial assessment, and we can determine a treatment plan together.Â
At this time, services are provided virtually only. It is possible that in the future, in-person visits may be required depending on what type of medication you are prescribed, depending on federal regulations that are still being determined in a post-COVID world.
In order to provide the highest quality of care possible, we do not accept insurance. In psychiatry, insurance can take up a significant amount of your provider's time and can limit how much time we can spend with our clients. We will continue to advocate for parity in mental health and medical treatment.Â
Most insurance policies have out-of-network benefits, as insurance companies recognize the benefits of seeing someone not in the network. First, contact your insurance company to determine if you have benefits. At each visit with your provider, a "superbly" will be generated. A superbill is essentially a receipt for your insurance, telling them about the services you received and how much you paid out of pocket. Then you will submit a claim to your insurance company using the superbill (this can be done through your patient portal or through your insurance website). Next, your insurance will reimburse you directly for the services you receive. Most insurance plans have a deductible that needs to be reached before receiving benefits. The charges on your superbill will count towards your deductible, and then you will be reimbursed a percentage of the cost, depending on your plan.
When you use insurance, you pay out of pocket until your deductible is met, then your insurance company pays the provider directly a percentage of the services, and you pay the remainder. This is similar to out-of-network benefits, where you pay the provider directly, and then your insurance company pays you instead of the provider.Â
We accept credit or debit cards at this time. We will keep a card on file with our patient portal for your convenience. We will not have the ability to see your card information after entering it. Payment for services is due at the start of the visit.Â
